HOST AN OSCARS-INSPIRED EVENING
Lifestyle20 February 2017
Hollywoods most glitzy awards night of the year is nearly upon us so we thought it would be fun to show you how to host your guests Oscars-style! PS. Most of our picks aren't Oscars-specific and can work for a lot of themes:
A TOUCH OF GOLD
Inspired by Oscar itself.
From the invites to the flowers, gold elements bring a touch of luxury to any table setting be that Oscars-related or just-because. To keep things modern, we love the idea of marrying gold with white and clear accents in interesting ways for example the gold-dipped dinner plate and crackled ombre vase aren’t a perfect match but they work well together.

DELICIOUSLY THEMED EATS
If there’s a theme you’re going for, there’s likely a recipe to match.
What better way to get your guests in the spirit of your event than with delicious food to suit the occasion. Blow them away with a movie-inspired menu or keep it simple with good old-fashioned canapes served on stylish tasting plates. Black platters are a classy touch!

COCKTAILS AND CHARADES
With good food must come great drinks and laughter.
Charades are the perfect nod to the Oscars-theme but also an easy icebreaker to entertain your guests with in between meals (and in between award categories, if you’re watching that is!). A bond-inspired cocktail might also help to improve your Charades’ act, alternatively the Moya wine glasses and bow tie are very 007.
